14th April 2012

Dear Lena,

Tolouse is a very big city. It is very beautiful and here you can do a lot of things. I recommend it.

Toulouse has a lot of beautiful parks, a lot of shops with different types of clothes. It has good food, I recommend the kebabs, doing kebabbs very good! In this city , people are very fiendly. One important thing, you must visit "La cité de l'espace". This is a place doesn't expensive, where there are the simulation of universe and other activities related with The Solar System.

Apart from Tolouse, you can visit oter places, for example: Marseille, that has a lot of very cool shops; Carcassone has a spectacular castle; Lyon, Metz....

One more thing - if you come here, you'll need cold clothes and warm clothes because of the variable weather. If you can't speak English, you can't speak Spanish because in this city, people knou a bit of Spanish. In this city, people are also rich, so the things are expensive but this things have a lot of quality. If you live in Tolouse more one night, I recommend the hotel "Formula 1", it's very good.

Love,
Laila

Japan Governor Should Retract Homophobic Comments

On two occasions the governor of Tokyo, Shintaro Ishihara, criticized gays and lesbians, making them view as a deficient.

The first occasion was on December 3 when he went to Tokyo Metropolitan Ordinance Regarding the Healthy Development of Youth to discuss manga and anime where, the governor, said that it wasn't fair to the kids that see homosexuals appear to television.

The second occasion was on December 7 when he spoke to reporters about the incident and he replied that he believed that homosexuals haven't some things and which could be a genetic factor.

Consequently, on 10 December, Shintaro Ishihara had retract to indicate that Japan is not descriminate homosexuals.

I think that would happen perfectly here, because in all places there are people like this, who don't like homosexuals as if they a plague. I also think that it could happen because I think that more politics must think as Shintaro.

I think if we do something because many people still discriminate against homosexuals or people differently just because they were and of course politicians aren't exceptions. Therefore, I believe that if we are beginning to accept, then they would have a better life and not there would such cases when is clearly seen as disdain even genetically engineered.

Human Rights

0. Quiz: do you know your rights? : what's your score?

29/41

1. What are human rights?

Human rights are those freedoms, faculties, institutions or claims relating to primary or basic goods including any person, for the simple fact of their humanity, to guarantee a decent life, without distinction of race, color, sex , language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

Human rights are free classifieds into three types: the first generation rights, the rights of second generation and third generation rights. The division of human rights into three generations was first conceived in 1979 by Karel Vasak. Each is associated with one of the great values proclaimed in the French Revolution: liberty, equality and fraternity.

The first generation rights are civil and political rights, linked with the principle of freedom. This rights are generally considered of defense or negative, which require the public authorities their inhibition and not interference in the private sphere.

Moreover, second-generation rights are economic, social and cultural rights which are linked with the principle of equality. Required for effective implementation of the intervention of public authorities, through benefits and services. There is some contradiction between the rights against the state (first generation) and rights to the state (second generation). Advocates of civil and political rights often qualify to economic, social and cultural rights as false rights because the State can't satisfy rather than imposing others their realization, which for them would be a violation of rights of first generation.

Meanwhile, the third generation of rights, emerged in the literature in 1980, is linked with solidarity. Unifies them their impact on the lives of everyone, a universal scale, as required for their realization a series of efforts and cooperation on a planetary level. Normally included in this kind of rights the heterogeneous rights as the right to peace, to the quality life and guarantees against the genetic manipulation, although different jurists associate these rights to other generations

2. Why were they created?

Human rights were created to reconsider the human knowledge because the man isn't capable of respecting the same human species, as many say "man is a predator of himself."

Certainly this inability to respect has led to give certain parameters or global rules of behavior called fundamental human rights, the main point of knowledge for man are these rights. These rights are crucial in today's society in which we live due to their lack of values.

The universal declaration of human rights is one of the most cited papers in the world, but also is one of the lesser-known texts in their real content. In view the importance that for the contemporary subject has a duty to know and implement the main principles that human rights are oriented in all of their manifestations.

If we review our life and we reflect upon it we find conditions of abuse to others, perhaps we have done or seen others do, we ask ourselves, why we do something to help? or what should we do?

3. How many human rights are there?

Everyone has these rights:
  • A life.

  • A personal integrity, physical, mental and moral.

  • A personal freedom.

  • A petition to the authorities.

  • A freedom of expression.

  • The protection of freedom of conscience and religion.

  • A assemble freely and to associate.

  • A the identity and nationality.

  • A private property.

  • A move and reside in the territory of a State.

  • A fair trial within a reasonable time before a tribunal objective, independent and impartial and a second hearing judicial.

  • A presumption of innocence.

  • A defense.

  • A non-discrimination.

  • A work.

  • A health.

  • The attendance of children and adolescents.

  • To receive protection and assistance during pregnancy and childbirth.

  • To have food, clothes and house.

  • A free public education at all levels of education.

  • A healthy and balanced environment.

  • A self-determination of peoples.

  • The protection of health, safety and economic interests as appropriate and accurate information in relation to consumption and use of goods and services.

  • To live in peace.

  • Human development economic and social development.

  • A culture.

  • The protection and family support.

4. Which human right were you not familiar with? Mention an example where this human right is respected and where it is not respected.

I more or less already knew all the rights that we have although I think that not all met. I found an example that isn't fulfilled: the right to a fair trial within a reasonable time before a tribunal objective, independent and impartial and a second hearing judiciary.

In this country, the court isn't objective because it tends to favor the most powerful people with a lot of money , and usually have color, that is, that the courts tend to be of one party or another and to favor his party.

A right I think that isn't fulfilled is the right to life because everyone who wants to live, you can and also because in the democratic countries are prohibited the death penalty and, therefore, the murderers were not removed the right to live.

Final Reflection

I think that I improved my level of English more this year than in all secondary school because although in the exams I had good notes, this year I improved my level of writing and I think this is because I done many essays and especially due through for the blog.

I think I improved a lot since the beginning of the year so far, simply because not only write well but more fluently because I already think that before with Catalan and after translating in English, however, I think directly in English. I also learned a lot of vocabulary with a dictionary at the beginning of the year although the translator did not and now, this is reflected in "DBSK Separates" (the 1st composition) and "Sailor Moon" (the last composition) .
Also say that I improved a little in the oral presentations, the first thing I did because I got so nervous I could not say anything, the last presentation, the 1st time I read a lot and, the 2nd time I have done something better.

I would say that both the writings and the blog helped me a lot because thanks to them, I have more fluently when I write and I learned vocabulary that didn't know. I also find that the podcast helped me somewhat in pronunciation because when you as recorded, you need search how you pronounce things and repeat until well, and so I remember how to pronounce .
Regarding the exams, I think in general I also went well because I would say that gives me pretty good grammar and readings I think I'm pretty good too.

Moreover, oral presentations not helped me much because I tend to put me very nervous before the people and don't well doing this presentation. Neither have been very useful for me the oral exams, as well as oral presentations, although I understand the book, but I putting me so nervous I can not express good and I tend to speak Catalan because I forget the vocabulary.

If they can be, I would like to the blog again because you learn quite well with him and would do more listening as we do very little in class. I would also continue oral presentation because although I did not go well, I want them to continue doing what I learn new things each oral presentation and can do a little better.

My book Review

Como Agua Para Chocolate

"Como Agua Para Chocolate" is the story of forbidden love between Tita and Pedro. Mama Elena knows the score and makes sure Pedro and Tita are never alone anywhere on the ranch. Tita is forced to stay in the kitchen and prepare the family's meals.

This history tells about Tita's love, Pedro Muzquiz, comes to the family's ranch to ask for Tita's hand in marriage. Because Tita is the youngest daughter she is forbidden by a family tradition upheld by her tyrannical mother, Mama Elena, to marry. Pedro marries Tita's oldest sister, Rosaura, instead, but declares to his father that he has only married Rosaura to remain close to Tita.
Rosaura and Pedro are forced to leave for San Antonio, Texas, at the urging of Mama Elena, who suspects a relationship between Tita and Pedro. Rosaura loses her son Roberto and is later made sterile from complications with the birth of her daughter Esperanza.

I personally liked the character of Tita and that in a situation as she lives I probably would do the same.
I also like the recipes that are included in the book and I like to serve as the author makes magic realism in this book because, really, it does very well.

Sometimes I like the fact that Peter is such a coward because, instead of marrying Rosaura and Tita and stay with because he was not proposing to go to live far away, two of them together, and so be saved to suffer so much Tita and others.

I personally really liked this book because it combines very well with magical realism and romanticism in this book the author has been able to make this book really interesting, you read it and taste it very fácill read in other languages or dialects.

In Castilla-La Mancha has incremented tourism 15.6%

http://www.abc.es/20110605/toledo/abcp-ultimos-seis-meses-numero-20110605.html

In
the past six months, the total number of citizens who visited Castilla-La Mancha has increased by 15.6% compared to last year. The most visited cities are Toledo and Ciudad Real. In this period also increased daily expenditure in this region.

This affects the Spanish economy but also because although afavorece daily expenditure has increased in this region, have augmented sightseeing and thus augment the Spanish ecomonia much more than it spends.

To me, not particularly affect me much because even augment the overall economy, rather than who they supports anything that is to the people of Castilla-La Mancha.

Cucumbers murderers kill three people

http://www.ciberweb.com/noticia_24630_1_109_33__Alemania+atribuye+a+unos+pepinos+de+Espa%C3%B1a+la+muerte+de+tres+personas+intoxicadas.html

Some cucumbers grown in Andalucia, to come to Germany three people killed by a disease called Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome "procuded by Echericha Coli bacteria.

This, in effect, affects Spanish economy because now the other countries don't want to buy cucumbers in Spain and also because the Spanish people themselves don't buy them for fear of catching the disease. This disease occurs due to a bacteria called Echericha coli found in the peels of cucumber, meaning that if you just wash the cucumber E. Coli is gone.

To me this doesn't particularly affect me because I keep buying and eating cucumber cucumbers because this bacteria is in the strips of cucumber, not inside.
