Avex Corporation is one of the major music software companies in Japan, located in Shibuya within Tokyo. It is the parent company of avex group, and the origin of its name comes from the phrase expert audio visual
On 1 October 2004 the alliance of the company changed its name to Avex Group Holdings Inc., and simultaneously was also created his own public relations company avex entertainment inc .. The head of the company is the producer Masato "Max" Matsuura.
The company has numerous labels and seals within itself, and also home to many artists, several of them becoming big hits in Japan. The singer Ayumi Hamasaki seal has won the award for best artist of the year at Japan Record Awards from 2001 to 2003 consecutively, and in 2005 he won the singer Kumi Koda.
History
Avex Trax's history dates back to 1988 when its creator Masato Matsuura opened a distributor of CDs called AVEX DD Inc. In September 1990 officially opens the avex trax record label (the largest in the company), and mainly devoted to the production and release of dance music, especially the eurobeat which is quite popular in Japan.
In the 90s the label was gaining more fame and was making of the artists who years later would dominate all the charts in popularity and sales as Ayumi Hamasaki (artist who is considered the economic anchor of the seal due to the incredible sales it has achieved reach), Namie Amuro, Every Little Thing or globe.
In 1999 the label has expanded the area of music for creating anime sub-label Avex Mode, specially dedicated to the production and creation of soundtracks for series.
In 2001 the label opened its own school to find new talent to later become big stars: the establishment Avex Artist Academy is called and is currently in Tokyo. The year 2002 began producing Copy Control CD formats to enhance security between the disks and fight piracy.
